Jeju Airport Car Rental: Pickup, Shuttle and Return Guide
A practical arrival-and-departure checklist for collecting a rental car at Jeju International Airport (CJU).

The airport booking is only the starting point
For a Jeju rental, plan a transfer from the airport to the supplier’s office before collecting the car. Visit Jeju describes rental-company shuttles, and LOTTE’s own directions lead from the terminal to its off-site Auto House. An airport location in a search result does not mean your vehicle is waiting outside arrivals.
Choose your supplier with your flight times in mind. The useful comparison is the complete pickup and return process: shuttle, office opening hours, driver eligibility, deposit and the final price for your dates.

Before booking: save these six answers

Use the supplier’s current instructions for your actual reservation. Do not substitute another company’s shuttle timetable because it looks more convenient.
Finding the rental-car shuttle at CJU
Visit Jeju places the rental shuttle area a short walk from Gate 5 on the first-floor arrivals level. Follow the rental-car signs and then the company and bay shown on your voucher.
LOTTE illustrates why the details matter: its published airport desk is by Gate 2, while its shuttle boarding point is Rental Cars Shuttles, Zone 1, No. 4. These are different places. They are LOTTE-specific directions, not the boarding instructions for every DiscoverCars booking. LOTTE’s current Auto House directions include its shuttle and return arrangements.
- Collect baggage and open your saved voucher.
- Identify the local supplier and its boarding instructions.
- Follow the airport signs to the correct area, checking the company name before boarding.
- At the rental office, present your documents and review the agreement.
- Photograph the vehicle’s condition, check the fuel or charge level and confirm the return location before driving away.
Keep the arrival day realistic
A scheduled landing time is not a reliable car-collection time. Baggage, finding the shuttle, waiting, the transfer and paperwork all come between the aircraft and the keys. Ask the supplier what pickup time fits your flight and what to do if it is delayed.
For a late flight, compare an airport-area first night and next-morning collection with an explicitly confirmed evening pickup. A cheaper daily rate has little value if the office will be closed when you get there. Save a fallback route to your accommodation before departure.

Documents, deposits and the handover
LOTTE’s visitor guide lists a physical IDP booklet, home-country driving licence, passport and a credit card in the renter’s name. Check the chosen supplier’s exact eligibility and accepted permit before paying; these requirements can depend on the driver and vehicle. DiscoverCars’ terms say buying its Full Coverage does not by itself remove the supplier’s security-deposit requirement. Check your selected offer for the deposit and accepted payment method. A prepaid rental, a refundable card hold and protection for damage costs are separate items. Check DiscoverCars’ current terms and the rental conditions on your voucher.

Returning the car before a flight
Work backwards from the time your airline wants you at the terminal. Before that, allow for the supplier transfer, the return inspection, any fuel or charging stop, and the drive from your final accommodation. Use current route estimates and the supplier’s instructions to set your own buffer.
For LOTTE, the published sequence is return to Auto House, vehicle inspection, then the shuttle back to the airport. Other suppliers may use different offices or procedures. Do not drive straight to the departures curb assuming that is the return location.
- Save the return office pin as well as the airport pin.
- Confirm the first shuttle if you have an early flight.
- Remove luggage, phone cables and personal items before inspection.
- Keep the return acknowledgement and final fuel or charging receipt.
Choose a pickup that fits your trip
Enter the real collection and return times, then compare the supplier conditions alongside the price. Read recent supplier-specific feedback for practical pickup issues; a platform-wide rating alone does not describe your rental desk.
