Luggage storage in Singapore: Changi, Jewel & city options
A late flight can give you an extra day in Singapore. Dragging a suitcase through it is optional.
Already at Changi? Use airport storage. Checked out in town? Ask your hotel first, then compare a city location along your route. The cheapest advertised rate is rarely worth crossing Singapore twice to collect your bag.
This guide covers where to leave luggage before check-in, after checkout and during a layover, including Changi’s prices and what to check when booking city storage.

Where should you leave your luggage?
- Layover at Changi
- Use an airport counter on the side of immigration you can access. There is little point taking a bag into town just to store it.
- A few hours at Jewel
- Use the Level 1 left-baggage service, or check whether your airline can take your checked bag early.
- Arriving before check-in
- Ask your accommodation to hold it. Confirm the charge, if any, and when you can collect it.
- Checkout before a late flight
- Keep it at your hotel if you will be nearby. Otherwise, compare city storage near your last stop or onward transport.
- Staying airside
- Choose a transit-area counter. Jewel is outside the transit area, so a booking there will not help if you cannot enter Singapore.
If your hotel is in Chinatown and you are spending the afternoon nearby, returning for your bag is easy enough. If you are moving to another neighbourhood for the day, check the collection detour before saying yes.
Changi Airport luggage storage: prices and locations
Smarte Carte operates Changi’s baggage-storage counters. The airport lists 24-hour service in both public and transit areas:
- Public area: Jewel Level 1, plus the arrival levels of Terminals 2, 3 and 4.
- Transit area: counters in all four terminals, accessible to eligible transit passengers.
| Item category | Price |
|---|---|
| Loose item | S$6 |
| Small item, below 10kg | S$11 |
| Big or odd-sized item, above 10kg | S$16 |
| Extra-large item | S$19 |
Singapore dollars, including GST. Published rates checked 22 October 2026. Confirm your item’s category with staff, especially if it weighs exactly 10kg.
Ordinary storage is available on a walk-in basis, and bags are inspected. See Changi’s baggage-storage directory for counter locations and current charges.
Public and transit counters are not interchangeable. Choose where you will collect the bag, too. Do not leave it on the other side of immigration from the route you need to take.
Leaving luggage at Jewel Changi
Jewel’s left-baggage service is on Level 1. It is useful if you want to see the Rain Vortex, eat or explore before your flight. Some attractions do not allow luggage inside; check the Jewel traveller information before carrying a suitcase upstairs.
Jewel is in the public area, not airside. Connecting passengers need to clear immigration to visit. Check that you can enter Singapore and leave time to return for your flight. A storage booking does not change entry requirements. The official Jewel FAQs explain access for transit passengers.
From Terminal 1, Jewel connects to the Level 1 Arrival Hall. The link bridges from Terminals 2 and 3 are described as a five-to-ten-minute walk; Terminal 4 involves a shuttle. Check directions from your terminal rather than assuming every terminal is next door.
Check early bag drop before paying for storage
If you are flying out later, your airline may accept your checked bag early. Jewel has an early check-in facility for participating airlines, but the window depends on the airline and flight. Check Changi’s early check-in guide for your departure.
Ask two separate questions: Can I check in now? and Can I drop this bag now? A boarding pass on your phone does not answer the second one. If early bag drop is available, keep everything you need until boarding in your day bag.
City luggage storage after hotel checkout
Start with your hotel or hostel. Ask whether it can keep your luggage, whether there is a charge and what time collection closes. It might solve the problem without another booking.
If the hotel is out of your way, compare storage near the neighbourhood where you will finish the day. Chinatown, Bugis and Clarke Quay are useful areas to search, depending on your plans.

Radical Storage
Radical Storage lists partner businesses in Singapore, including locations around Chinatown, Bugis and Clarke Quay. These are individual shops, hotels and other businesses with their own hours, rather than one citywide storage counter.
Open the search, select Singapore and enter your drop-off and collection times. Check the map, bag allowance and final total, including any service or protection charges. Book online before heading to the location and follow the instructions on your confirmation.

Bounce
Bounce is another option for comparing storage locations in Singapore. Search with the same dates, collection time and bag count so the quotes are comparable. A location that is a little dearer but stays open when you need it may be the better choice.
Do not assume every partner offers overnight or 24-hour access. Read the specific listing, then check the total at checkout before paying.
For a late flight, collection hours matter more than the starting price. A shop that closes while you are still at dinner is the wrong storage spot, however close it looks on the map.
How to compare the real cost
A “from” price is a starting point, not necessarily what your suitcase will cost. Before booking, compare:
- The same bags and times. Check whether each small bag counts separately and how the storage period is calculated.
- The final checkout total. Include any mandatory fees rather than comparing headline rates.
- The collection journey. Add transport you would take only to retrieve your bags.
- The booking rules. Check cancellation, late collection and restrictions on valuables or fragile items.
For example, saving S$4 on storage is not a saving if collecting the bag adds an S$8 journey. Those figures are an illustration, but the extra trip is easy to overlook when comparing prices on your phone.
Read any protection policy before relying on it. Check what is covered, what is excluded and what evidence you would need to make a claim.
Before you hand over your bag
- Keep your passport, boarding pass, phone, essential medication and valuables with you.
- Confirm the collection deadline with staff, including what happens if you are delayed.
- Save your confirmation or receipt offline so you can retrieve it without mobile data.
- Note the exact entrance or shop name. A map pin can be awkward to find again inside a large building.
Leave time to collect it
Work backwards from your airline’s bag-drop or boarding deadline. Include the trip to storage, collection, travel to the right terminal and the airport formalities that apply to your flight. Add room for a queue or a delayed journey instead of planning around the fastest possible connection.
For a short stop, stay close to the airport. For a longer day in town, choose one area to explore and a storage point that sits naturally on the way out. Our things to do in Singapore guide can help you pick an afternoon’s worth of sights; the three-day Singapore itinerary is more useful if you have a few nights.
Singapore luggage storage FAQs
Can I leave luggage at Changi Airport overnight?
Yes. Changi lists 24-hour baggage-storage counters and charges per 24 hours. Confirm the total for your collection date and keep the receipt. Make sure you will be able to access the same counter when you return.
Is Jewel luggage storage inside the transit area?
No. Jewel is in the public area. Transit passengers need to enter Singapore through immigration to visit; use an airside counter if you are staying in transit.
Can I store a bag for just a few hours?
Yes, but a short stay does not necessarily mean an hourly price. Changi publishes 24-hour rates. For city providers, enter your actual times and check the quote before booking.
Will my hotel store bags after checkout?
Ask your hotel directly. Storage availability, fees and collection hours vary. If it can hold the bag and you will be nearby later, that may be the simplest option.
What is the cheapest luggage storage in Singapore?
There is no single cheapest option for every bag and date. Start with your accommodation, then compare city providers using the final price. Include any extra travel needed to collect your bag.
Sort the bag around the day you want to have. Keep it at Changi for an airport-based stop, at your hotel when that is convenient, or near your final city stop when it saves a return trip.
